Chalkboard effect
We'll begin this tutorial, by creating a new canvas at a size of 282 x 174 then download the below pattern. Once the below pattern is open in Photoshop, go to the main menu and select, "Edit" then "Define Pattern". Give it a suitable name and click OK. Then close the pattern document.
  Now right click on the "Background" layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Pattern Overlay".

You may now click OK.
You should now have the following:
Now grab the "Polygonal Lasso Tool" and make a selection as I have done below. To get the 45 degree angle, just hold the "Shift" key in on your keyboard.
Now make a selection to the bottom of the shape as I have done. Remember to hold the "Shift" key in on your keyboard.

Duplicate the layer and go to the main menu and select "Edit" then "Transform" and lastly "Flip Horizontally" and move to the appropriate space as shown below.
Follow steps 4 through 6 to get the top and bottom except this time "Flip Vertically". ;) Once all four sides have been created, select them all in the Layers Palette and merge them by going to the main menu and selecting "Layer" then "Merge Selected". Call this layer "Frame".
Then download the below pattern. Once the below pattern is open in Photoshop, go to the main menu and select, "Edit" then "Define Pattern". Give it a suitable name and click OK. Then close the pattern document.
  Now right click the "Frame " layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Glow".

Do not click "OK" as of yet. Still more to do.
  Now click on "Bevel and Emboss".

  Now click on "Pattern Overlay".

You may now click OK.
You should now have the following:

Now make the below selection using the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and create a new layer. Name this layer "Backdrop" and move below the "Frame" layer in the Layers Palette. Now fill with 5d6869. Deselect the selection.
  Now right click the "Backdrop" layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".

You may now click OK.
You should now have the following:
Now make the below selection using the "Rectangular Marquee Tool". Make sure the foreground is now 5d6869 and the backgrond is dfdfdf, then create a new layer. Now go to the main menu and choose "Filter" then "Render" and lastly, "Clouds." Name this layer "Chalky".
  Now right click the "Chalky" layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Shadow".

You may now click OK.
Now turn the Fill down to 50%.
Next, create another layer and select the "Brush Tool" with White as the color while using the below settings.
Now for the fun part. Using the "Brush Tool" begin to draw your text. Take your time and try to make it look natural.
The Results!!!
To finish the effect, I turned the Fill of the hand/mouse drawn text down to 40% and added more text. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
