About the Artist

Me and Adobe Photoshop: My first experience with design or better yet, photo manipul-ation, was with a program called MGI Photosuite back in the mid 90's. Simple cropping of pictures and ridding backgrounds was my specialty in those days. I heard a lot about Photoshop in the forums and newsgroups so I thought I'd try my hand at it. It was pretty overwhelming initially but after awhile, I started to get the hang of the tools and filters that Photoshop had to offer. I would spend hours and hours and hours trying, reading and experimenting till I got what I wanted and here I am.

Me, inside and out:
First and foremost, my name is Jason Mortimer and am originally from a small town/village called Valton, located in the deep valleys of central Wisconsin. Although my roots run deep, I, in no way, shape or form, fear change and am a pretty open minded person. I wear my heart on my sleeve, but for the most part, try to keep to myself. I consider myself to be somewhat of a perfectionist yet am a dreamer at the same time which can make life a bit difficult at times. My family is small and my circle of friends even smaller. I guess you could say I have some trust issues...have been let down many times, but haven't we all. So there I am in a nutshell.

About version 7: Laced with Emotion: Version 7 has a lot to do with what I have experienced over the past few months. Those few that know me very well may understand and see the meaning behind this version of Empire Dezign but to everyone else, it's nothing more than a new idea and design. Either way, I hope you enjoy it and feel comfortable here at Empire Dezign.

The design/idea has been swirlin' around in my head for a little bit but the color blue and the love of the ocean has always been close to my heart. The design however, took approximately two months to complete as far as the Photoshop aspect goes. The scenes (headers) tell the story of the last few months that has been very difficult for me and forced me to grow/change as a person.

Breakin' it down: The below are somewhat vague explanations behind each of the five scenes. I will also be adding more scenes to the remaining top menu items...eventually.

Scene 1
scene one
Scene one, the island, will only be known to those close to me, but only one knows, or should know the whole tale...I was deserted, yet my love still holds strong.

Scene 2
scene two
Scene two, the leap from one ship to another...only to learn the anticipated ship sails away, never to look back.

Scene 3
scene three
Scene three, left for dead, I am sought out, but never found and never to be seen from again.

Scene 4
scene four
Scene four, underwater...am beginning to lose all hope in myself and am starting to wonder what it is I am fighting for.

Scene 5
scene five
Scene five, Washed ashore, I am left to start over but not knowing where I am in my life it makes things difficult. Nonetheless, I know I must survive.

So where does my story end? Well that is left up to version eight of Empire Dezign. Stay tuned...

Outside of yourself, be ever so careful of whom you trust and give your all to. Always be true to yourself and those you love.
